Accommodation

Corky Carroll's Surf School is a day-camp and lesson operation - no overnight accommodation is provided. The school operates from Bolsa Chica State Beach, a 3-mile stretch of wide sandy beach with excellent facilities including clean bathrooms and showers. For those seeking overnight stays, Huntington Beach offers numerous hotels and vacation rentals within minutes of the beach. The camp runs daily from 9am-1pm during summer months, with private lessons available year-round starting at 8am for optimal morning conditions.

Surf

Ride the gentle, beginner-friendly waves of Bolsa Chica State Beach, a sheltered beach break known for smaller wave sizes compared to other Southern California spots. The sandy bottom and lack of rocks create a safe environment for first-timers, while consistent northwest swells in winter and southwest swells in summer ensure waves year-round. With a 3:1 student-to-instructor ratio for regular camps and 1:1 for junior camps, certified instructors guide students through wave paddling, wave selection, standing up, and safe dismounting. All equipment is provided including soft-top boards and wetsuits, plus a free t-shirt for every participant.
